Harry Potter series faces a new hiccup in its Season 2 production. HBO is all set to bring the nostalgia and magic of Hogwarts back with the reboot of J.K. Rowling’s famous world of wizardry. However, the process has faced multiple issues with its casting, costumes, and cinematography, which have been heavily criticized by fans.

But as Season 1, which is based on the first book, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, overcame all the hurdles and is set for release this Christmas, the second season has been facing new and different issues. And one of the new issues could push back the release date of the second season.

The work on Harry Potter Season 2 was approved quickly and was supposed to begin filming last month, but it now faces a delay. The filming of the second season, which will be based on Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, is now expected to begin in October. And the reason behind the delay is said to be the incomplete script.

The Sun reported that HBO and Warner Bros. are yet to give the green light to the script because they want “the plot and characterizations to be perfect.” While it is too early to comment, a delay in production may lead to a delay in the release of the second season. However, the reason behind the higher-ups’ focus on the script is also understandable.

The first season of the show, which is yet to be released, has already faced massive criticism over its cinematography and dark color palette. Others did not seem fond of the casting. Now, the casting process for Season 2 has also faced issues, with Nicholas Hoult reportedly being replaced by Kit Harington who will play Gilderoy Lockhart. Bonnie Hill is now set to portray Ginny in season 2.

Not to mention, the season also has plans to explore characters who did not get much attention in the films or books.

HBO’s Harry Potter actor Lox Pratt, in his interview with 1883 Magazine, revealed that the series will focus on characters who were not explored much in the books or films. Pratt, who is playing Draco Malfoy in the series, shared that the show will focus on details about his character’s life at home. This could be the first time that fans get to see Malfoy's life inside Malfoy Manor.

The same can be said for other characters, too, such as the Hogwarts teachers, whose stories will be explored in the series, along with other details from the books. Now, this is something long-awaited by fans who were upset about the films skipping details from the books. Whether it can impress the fans remains to be seen.
