Harrison Ford recently joined his fellow stars at an Apple TV press event in Los Angeles to talk about his experience working on Shrinking. Along with singing the praises of the show, he also hinted at his potential retirement.
“The kind of work that we’re able to do is remarkable given the tools we have to work with, and the notion that lies behind this series. And if it was all over here, that would be sufficient,” he said.
As per The Hollywood Reporter, the members present at the press conference, including the content creators and the cast, applauded for Ford’s comments. While his plans for retirement are not confirmed, and fans are not quite ready to say goodbye, his remarks were deeply touching. Much like his deeply emotional words, the story of his character in Shrinking also touched the hearts of people.
Ford’s character, Dr. Paul Rhoades, is a senior therapist and colleague of Jimmy at the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Center, who slowly comes to terms with his Parkinson’s disease. And rest assured, Ford is not going anywhere anytime soon, as a new episode of Shrinking starts new drama.
Harrison Ford's love did not just end with praising the show, it also extended to a co-star who actually suffered from Parkinson’s disease.
Harrison Ford speaks fondly of co-star Michael J. Fox
During the press event, Harrison Ford mentioned his new co-star, Michael J. Fox. While Fox has been living with Parkinson’s disease since 1991, Ford’s character suffers from it in the series. And the actor was candid about this difference and took the opportunity to praise his co-star for his inspiring performance.
“I’ve always felt a real sense of responsibility for getting that part of my story right. But Michael is an extraordinary, generous and lovely fellow, who I did not know at all and had a chance to, just working on this show,” he said.

Fox appears in three episodes of the new season of Shrinking. Now, this is the beauty of the series, which is loved by fans and quite clearly by the cast too.
Ford may flirt with the idea of stopping, but Shrinking suggests the opposite: a late chapter written with grace, gratitude, and just enough warmth to remind us that some careers do not end so much as they soften into something truer.
