Halle Berry Spills the Beans on Potential 'Avengers: Doomsday' Appearance as Storm

Published 01/31/2026, 11:22 PM EST

Avengers: Doomsday celebrates the union of Marvel's multiverse of superheroes, and the team is incomplete without one of the most crucial X-Men, Storm. Naturally, all mics point to Halle Berry, who immortalized the royal mutant on screen, curious about getting a glimpse of her in the upcoming epic.

Berry, who first played Ororo Munroe/Storm in the X-Men movies in the early 2000s, has finally revealed details about her possible return after being swarmed by a deluge of media curiosity and the fandom's hopes. However, her latest response is more straightforward than expected, or perhaps in tune with other tight-lipped Marvel stars.

Halle Berry straight-up denied the possibility of her participation in the upcoming Doomsday movie after reporters explained that fans wanted to see her name on the future cast list. Speaking to BBC 1xtra, Berry chose to provide a clear answer when asked whether she would like to reprise her role as Storm in Avengers: Doomsday.

“Yeah, I would love to, but you know… No," Berry told the outlet, crushing the curiosity of countless MCU enthusiasts.

Storm's omission is all the more striking as many of Berry's original X-Men co-stars, including Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James Marsden, Alan Cumming, and more, are confirmed to reprise their roles in the film’s ensemble. Moreover, for the grand scale of battle that Doomsday aspires to achieve, the Wakandan queen consort, who has been a member of the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, and the X-Men, would have been a priority choice.

Previously, Berry also confirmed to Black Girl Nerds that her name would never be added to the Doomsday casting chair roll-out. Though she firmly negated Storm's inclusion, some fans remain optimistic. Half the fandom believes her mysterious behavior, combined with Marvel's pattern of unexpected guest appearances, might lead to a final reveal of Storm on the next Avengers movie or at least Secret Wars role as a possibility.

However, the harsh truth, as Berry herself has declared, Storm will not appear in Avengers: Doomsday, even though Berry wishes to play her famous mutant character again alongside her peers.

X-Men are incomplete without Storm; however, apart from Halle Berry, Marvel has already recruited several other mutants for Avengers: Doomsday. Multiple actors from the original X-Men films come back to the MCU. Patrick Stewart returns as Professor Charles Xavier, the telepathic leader of the X-Men, while Ian McKellen reprises Magneto, his complex longtime rival.

James Marsden returns as Cyclops, while Alan Cumming takes on Nightcrawler again, and Rebecca Romijn as the shape-shifting Mystique in the Avengers universe. Kelsey Grammer also reemerges as Beast, continuing his mutant legacy from The Marvels into the big crossover event.

The reunion of these beloved X-Men characters brings historical depth and multiverse connections to Doomsday, which already includes a star-studded cast of some of the original Avengers and Fantastic Four superheroes. Though Storm is amiss, December 18, 2026, will see an epic battle against Doctor Doom with several original mutants as well as founding faces of Marvel's legacy.
