Halle Bailey described the filming process as stepping directly into a vibrant painting during a recent Q&A session with senior editor Nigel Smith in the People Inc. Auditorium with PEOPLE.

"I mean, when we got to Tuscany, especially, it felt like we were stepping into a dream, like a painting," she said. She expressed that the atmosphere in Tuscany felt entirely surreal and provided a beautiful escape for her and her young son, Halo. As a self-proclaimed lover of nature, the actress spent her free time exploring local hikes and discovering hidden hot springs throughout the countryside.

During the initial weeks of production in Rome, she even ventured to famous waterfalls that locals claim inspired the magical world of Narnia. She enjoyed the quiet moments away from the camera, finding small, authentic locations that made the experience feel personal and grounded.

"Halle Bailey, by the way, is very humble, so she might tell you stuff like she can make cacio e pepe from scratch now," he added. The actor believes that rom-coms are essential stories because every person shares a fundamental interest in the universal experience of love.
