Halle Bailey and Regé-Jean Page recently sat down with DiscussingFilm to talk about their upcoming movie, You, Me & Tuscany. Speaking of the experience, Bailey admitted that the table read felt a little intimidating, as it was their first step into the project. However, she credited Page for helping her get comfortable.
“I was lucky that I got to play off Regé and his character. He made me feel really comfortable, and we got into a vibe,” she said.
Their chemistry is evident from the very first glimpse of the film, which follows an aspiring chef, Anna, played by Bailey, who meets an Italian stranger, Matteo, by chance and ends up crashing at his empty villa in Italy. But things take a turn when she meets Matteo’s family, who instantly assume she is his new fiancée. And among them is his cousin Michael, played by Page.
Not just for the heartwarming bond, there was another reason why Bailey was excited to work with Page.
Halle Bailey is also a fan of Regé-Jean Page

“I was very excited to go on this movie journey with Regé because, number one, I was a huge fan, like we all are. But also, I feel like we could relate to one another in the way that we had been kind of put in these big roles and people see us as kind of these Black leaders, where they find joy in the art that we were creating and the roles that we were put in.”
Both praised each other's work. More of the two will be seen when the movie arrives on April 10, 2026. And if Bailey and Page’s off-screen connection is anything to go by, this is one journey that cannot be missed.
