The quiet force behind Hollywood’s biggest Asian-led hits stopped just advising studios and started building his own empire. Bing Chen is turning Gold House into a dominant Hollywood production engine, shifting from promoting blockbuster hits to controlling the narrative from day one. The launch of Gold House Studios marks a complete transformation from an external support network into an active platform for Asian creators.
Before creating original content, Bing Chen mastered the art of bringing key creators together to transform low-tracking films into cultural events.
From promoting hits to producing originals, new move of Gold House
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Gold House began by marketing films and advising major studios, but its core principle has always been bringing the right people together. Moving beyond consulting and marketing, Bing Chen is entering full-scale film and television production to develop IP from the ground up with the launch of Gold House Studio.
“The real impetus of doing this was because we’ve been asked by a lot of filmmakers,” he said while speaking to Hollywood Reporters. That idea paid off when their grassroots campaign helped Crazy Rich Asians gross over $240 million globally. Soon, studios sought Chen’s guidance for future Oscar winners like Parasite and Everything Everywhere All at Once.

The debut slate for Gold House Studios showcases Bing Chen’s wide-ranging creative interests and ambitions. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, planned projects include a road-trip dramedy, a martial arts adventure, a horror series, and a gaming adaptation of Slitterhead. Chen is even quietly developing his own 12-part sci-fi fantasy book series alongside these studio endeavours.
Long before launching a studio, Bing Chen built the foundation of his career by revolutionizing digital media and community advocacy.
The architect behind the Gold house- Bing Chen
Bing Chen first demonstrated his vision at YouTube, where he scaled the creator program and launched iconic initiatives like the Gold Play Button. In 2017, he founded Gold House to expand Asian and Pacific Islander influence across entertainment, business, and technology. In 2022, Gold House launched a $30 million fund (Gold House Ventures) backed by major tech and business founders to invest in AAPI-led (Asian, Asian American, and Pacific Islander) startups.
Gold House quickly grew beyond advocacy by launching a $30 million venture capital fund to back promising entrepreneurs. The organization also established the famous Gold Gala, creating a premier networking space that regularly sparks major industry collaborations. Their creative equity fund even financed acclaimed independent movies like the Sundance favorite Dìdi.
