“Glorious!!”- Fans Are Blown Away as an Avenger Joins the Mutant Squad in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine'

The cameos in the third installment of Deadpool have been a real talking point. From Daniel Radcliffe to Taylor Swift, the upcoming release has been a melting pot of casting rumors. Ryan Reynolds and Kevin Feige had already spilled way back that Wade Wilson's Deadpool would be joining the MCU permanently. This meant that mutant characters would soon be crawling into the MCU's Multiverse Saga. However, it seems like this merging will now start with a popular MCU character's cameo in the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine.

Recently, it was revealed that a Thor will be popping up in Deadpool & Wolverine. Kevin Feige made a big announcement at CinemaCon and treated fans to nearly 10 minutes of footage from the movie. The footage confirmed Chris Hemsworth's cameo as in one scene, fans saw Thor grieving over Deadpool's lifeless body. This confirmation came almost two years after Chris Hemsworth playfully suggested a Thor cameo in Deadpool 3.

In a 2022 interview with BBC Radio 1, Hemsworth downplayed the Jackman/Reynolds feud and cracked a joke about surpassing Hugh Jackman's 16-year superhero record. The actor declared that he would not allow Jackman to cameo in Deadpool 3; instead, he would make a few calls and insert himself into the movie. Though it was initially taken as a jest, it now seems Hemsworth was somewhat serious, as he has indeed landed a role in the Shawn Levy-helmed anticipated blockbuster.

Despite ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’, ‘Dune: Part Two’, and ‘Joker: Folie À Deux’, Why Is 2024 Still Set to Be Worse Than 2023 for Movies?

Fans, however, had a somewhat mixed reaction to it. While some were thrilled, others were less so, and some just could not wrap their minds around how insane the upcoming movie is going to be

Fans’ mixed reactions about Thor joining the mutants in Deadpool & Wolverine

If Thor does make a cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine, their scenes together are sure to bring the laughs. The eccentric God of Thunder's old-fashioned wit mixed with Wade Wilson's raunchy humor is a match made in comedic heaven. However, due to differing content ratings and presumably separate universes, the integration of Wade Wilson into the Avengers fold remains a logistical challenge. This ambiguity is probably why some fans are, in two minds, about this decision.

Meanwhile, some were totally hyped up and could not wait to see Thor's dynamic with the mutants on screen.

The majority of fans, however, were just shocked as no one saw this coming.

Bringing Thor and Deadpool together could require some narrative acrobatics, perhaps involving travel to another world or timeline. However, such creative hurdles can be overcome with strong storytelling. Nonetheless, for those who are not entirely on board with this decision, if not for Deadpool & Wolverine, the fusion of these characters would have anyway unfolded in the upcoming Marvel movies given the acquisition.
