In an interview with Vogue, Powell revealed that the word “chemistry” has been thrown around a bunch” when the reality remained much simpler. “I think one thing that makes Syd really powerful as an actress is her lack of self-awareness.” Echoing the sentiment that them getting along well with each other was just something natural.

The comments came days after Sweeney pointed out that her bonding with her co-star was just part of starring in a rom-com together. Moreover, in the interview, The Dark Knight actor also broke down how their vibes matched. Despite hesitation, the duo acts to be a couple only for the pretend act to play Cupid. On its December 22 release, the movie landed alongside Migration, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, and The Iron Claw.

Debuting a 49% score on Rotten Tomatoes and a 6.5 out of 10 on IMDb, Anyone But You has, though, evoked mixed responses from viewers. Many praised its heart-warming plot and beautiful setting while also pointing out again the evident chemistry between the two lead pairs. After making $1.2 million in previews, the Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney starrer stands to rake in about $7 million in its opening weekend.
