Gillian Anderson puts down the claims made about her exit from the highly acclaimed period drama The Crown.

Gillian Anderson Debunks News Claiming She Refused to Reprise Her Role in ‘The Crown’ Season 6

Gillian Anderson seems to be furious about the word spreading about her role in
the acclaimed series The Crown. The Emmy award-winning actress has played the
role of Margaret Thatcher in the historical drama. The latest report rolled out
by Metro UK remarked that she refused to come back on the latest installment of
the series. And her decision has toiled on the creative team, who were forced to
make changes in the scripts. Clearing the air for worldwide viewers, she
recently debunked the news asserting that she denied reprising her role in the
show.

Gillian Anderson recently turned to her Twitter account to warn fans against the
news surrounding her role in The Crown. She reacted to the Metro UK post,
calling the news “Absolute bollocks.” Although the Sex Education star might have
exited from the show on the British royal family, she garnered huge admiration
for her beautiful portrayal of Thatcher. Not to forget, this role also brought
her first Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress.

For the unversed, the publication stated that Netflix executives have been
trying to bring her back on the show. Also written in the report was that the
actress is unable to make a return due to her busy schedule.

Currently, it is unknown who started these rumors about her but it can be
clearly seen that she did have several projects lined up. According to IMDb,
Anderson will star alongside Helen Mirren in the upcoming film White Bird: A
Wonder Story. In addition, there is a video game voiceover and a Netflix film
titled Scoop.

Meanwhile, the upcoming season of the show has much to offer its fans.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO ABOUT THE CROWN

Unfortunately, fans would not be able to see one of the leading cast members

in the final season. But like the last five spectacular seasons, viewers will
again watch something incredible. Season 6 will focus on the monarchy between
the end of the 1990s and the beginning of the 2000s. This means the show will
trace back the tragic death of Princess Diana through a car accident. However,
“the exact moment of the crash impact will not be shown,” Netflix said in a
statement.

Imelda Staunton will reprise her role of the Queen for the second time. Other
cast members include Viola Prettejohn, Elizabeth Debicki, Lesley Manville,
Dominic West, Olivia Williams, Jonathan Pryce, and Khalid Abdalla.
