An omnipresent element in almost every tale churned out through the cameras and witnessed on screens are the extras. The extras create a believable environment for the lead actors to excel. While almost always deprived of attention, it is through fantasy series such as that of The Witcher that the realization sinks in. Netflix’s make-believe Continent would just look like any other freezing place if it just had Henry Cavill swaying his sword in it.

Netflix may be the one investing its millions into Andrzej Sapkowski’s world, but it is the extras that bring it to life. But as the age-old curse of anonymity looms over them, creators often use the same extras in multiple scenes. And who else in Hollywood but Henry Cavill would think of lifting the curtains on this little inaccuracy? He pointed out during the promotion of The Witcher Season 3 how two really crucial scenes have the same performer.

As he took in his performance post-shooting, Cavill looks a tad bit too amused as he let fans in on something that would have been easily missed. Watching a fight scene that takes place early on in The Witcher, along with his fight coordinator, the former Superman stopped the video to point to a certain Thomas. “This chap right here was the first person I killed in Blaviken,” Cavill said.

Wolfgang Stegemann, along with Cavill, coordinated the immaculate fight scenes in The Witcher. And the two simply could not hold their laughter as they exposed a fault in the show. “His head is back intact again,” Cavill said with amusement as Stegemann continued to laugh.

It is unlikely that Netflix used the same extra to cut down on the budget of the expensive show. Given how dangerous the fight scenes involving Geralt are, it is likely that they only found a handful of skilled fighters. And Thomas, as the two stunt coordinators of The Witcher revealed, was one of them. Although he was promoting The Witcher, it got fans thinking of another fan-favorite character of Cavill’s who lives at 221B.

Throughout his acting career, Cavill has been seen as the perfect guy to lead an action movie. This is how he found himself starring alongside his idol Tom Cruise and making a cameo in Black Adam. While he shines in all these roles, it is in his subtle performances, such as that of Sherlock Holmes, that his acting range becomes clear.

Cavill was an absolute charm as the British detective on 221B Baker Street in London in Enola Holmes. The movie hit the ball out of the park within just a few hours of its release. Soon enough, everyone was demanding, for Enola Holmes 3 became clear. While there has not been an official announcement, fans remain hopeful that, albeit not as Superman, Henry Cavill will return as Sherlock Holmes.
