Anna and Kristoff's relationship has always been one of the sweetest threads running through Disney's Frozen franchise, growing from an unlikely friendship into a love story built on trust, loyalty, and plenty of awkward romantic moments. From their first encounter in the mountains to Kristoff finally proposing at the end of Frozen 2, their journey has unfolded alongside Anna's transformation as a princess and a leader. Now, the couple is ready for a new chapter that fans have been waiting to see.
Every great fairy-tale romance deserves its wedding bells, and Arendelle might finally be getting its royal celebration. With Frozen 3 approaching, Disney has revealed that the next adventure will waste little time taking Anna and Kristoff's relationship forward.
Frozen 3 will begin with Anna and Kristoff's wedding
The upcoming sequel will open with Anna and Kristoff's wedding, confirming that the couple will not spend another entire adventure dancing around their feelings. Disney Animation chief Jared Bush shared the development while discussing the film's progress, explaining that the story picks up relatively soon after the events of Frozen 2. Their engagement, which closed the previous film, will therefore lead directly into one of the biggest milestones in their relationship.
"I'd say that, if you remember the end of Frozen 2, Kristoff finally proposed to Anna. This movie starts with their wedding. So, not a whole lot of time has passed between those. How much time? You'll discover in the film," Bush told Collider.

Speaking at the SCAD Savannah Film Festival, he confirmed that Frozen 3 is progressing well, with songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez already working on its music.
"Right now, literally as we speak, Kristen and Bobby Lopez are working on one of the movie's most emotional songs right now. They are about five songs in," he shared. Bush also confirmed that the film is scheduled to arrive on November 24, 2027.
But the wedding is not the only reason the future of Arendelle is worth watching. Disney already has another chapter in mind, and the creative team is approaching it with a larger emotional journey in sight.
Disney is already mapping out another chapter beyond Anna and Kristoff's wedding
While Anna and Kristoff's wedding gives the third film an exciting starting point, Disney is already thinking about what comes after the celebrations. Jennifer Lee, who co-directed the first two films, has returned to write and direct both Frozen 3 and Frozen 4. However, Jared Bush clarified that the two installments are not being developed as one continuous story with a rushed release schedule.
"I think you have to have a rough sense of emotionally where you want your characters to go, a sense of an emotional journey. The plot behind that, at least for me, is secondary to the character journey," he said.
Bush also explained why the team does not want to become too invested in the fourth film before completing the third. He further stressed that having a future installment in mind should not restrict the creative decisions made for the current one. This approach gives Anna, Elsa, and the rest of Arendelle room to grow without making their stories feel like unfinished chapters waiting for another sequel.
With Anna and Kristoff preparing for married life and Elsa's journey continuing, Arendelle still has plenty of stories to tell.
