Each year, the Met Gala brings even more glamour and attention than before. This time, the red carpet will be graced by none other than Beyoncé. Returning nearly a decade after her last appearance in 2016, the pop star will join Anna Wintour as a co-chair, alongside Nicole Kidman and Venus Williams.

And apart from the co-chairs, the Met Gala also features a host committee, which includes notable names from the entertainment and sports worlds, among others. So, ahead of the 2026 event, here is a close look at the names that are part of the host committee.

Met Gala guests who prefer to skip the event

Gwyneth Paltrow is among the few celebrities who have openly shared her opinion on the event. She has claimed that it is not as glamorous as it may seem and that she would rather skip it. While many attend the event for the star-studded encounters, she prefers to stay away, finding it too crowded.

“I’m never going again,” she told USA Today back in 2013. “It was so un-fun. It was boiling. It was too crowded. I did not enjoy it at all.”

Several celebrities, such as Jennifer Aniston, Angelina Jolie, and Meryl Streep, who are yet to open up about their reasons, remain absent from the event. Zayn Malik and Jennifer Garner have openly shared that they did not enjoy the event much, while others have been even more candid. Amy Schumer once called the Met Gala “punishment,” and Tina Fey described it as a “jerk parade.”

However, many would disagree. Several netizens have been anticipating it for months. And nearly 450 celebrities are expected to attend the event, and the same can be said for this year.
