‘Friends’ Icon Jennifer Aniston Once Revealed the One Film That She Was “completely afraid” Of

Jennifer Aniston achieved unprecedented global fame through her character Rachel
Green in the hit sitcom Friends. But it was just the beginning when the world
got to witness her talent. Following this, the actress carved a successful
career for herself and branched out into other genres nailing all kinds of
roles. Her versatility and acting proficiency allowed her to take the limelight
in the entertainment industry for years. However, many might not be aware that
even after possessing so much talent, the American superstar was once afraid of
taking a role in a movie.

In September 2020, Jennifer Aniston made an appearance on the famous celeb
podcast show Smartless. In this episode, this beauty spilled several details
about her career and childhood which shaped her life

The hosts also took this opportunity to ask about her favorite movie she did all
this time. The Emmy winner quickly responded and said it was Cake, the 2014
American drama directed by Daniel Barnz.

Hearing this, the hosts chimed in appreciating her for putting so much hard work
into that project. The 54-year-old continued that the film was creatively
fulfilling for her in every way. “Everything I imagined as an actor I would be
completely afraid of and suck at I didn’t do so bad,” she added.

The podcast gang then poked fun at the California native that rumors are
spreading for a sequel named Pie. Showing off her comedic side, she went along
with the joke and agreed, laughing out loud. Meanwhile, many might be thinking
why the actress chose this movie when it was a box office bomb. But one must not
overlook the fact here that her acting was superb.

JENNIFER ANISTON EARNED AWARD NOMINATIONS FOR HER ROLE IN CAKE

Jennifer Aniston played the role of Claire Simmons, who combated her chronic
pain and became addicted to her medicines. This raw and emotional representation
of the character sent a chill down the throats of viewers. The Horrible Bosses
star racked up a nomination at the Golden Globe Awards and another at the Screen
Actors Guild Awards for her role.

Many even considered her acting Oscar-worthy for the way she portrayed the harsh
realities of life through her role. Unfortunately, the film did not get much
recognition because reviews focused more on Claire’s lack of make-up, scars, and
abrasive personality instead of what this woman was going through and how she
gets through this unimaginable pain.
