Ever since the end of August, the world has become enthralled with <a href="https://www.netflixjunkie.com/tag/prince-harry/">Prince Harry</a> and the Invictus Games. During his limited Netflix series, Heart of Invictus, viewers got to see the impact that the sporting event created on veterans. And it has carried through to this year’s games as well. What began on September 9th has quickly grabbed everyone’s attention, including South Korea, who recently won their first medal at this year&#8217;s Games in Düsseldorf.
After the meeting between Prince Harry and South Korea&#8217;s Minister of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, it seems like the Invictus Games have found the first Asian country it could be hosted in.
<h2>South Korea may host Prince Harry&#8217;s Invictus Games in the future</h2>
Recently, The Invictus Games of 2023 began in Düsseldorf, Germany. Unsurprisingly, Prince Harry was in attendance along with his wife, <a href="https://netflixjunkie.com/tag/meghan-markle">Meghan Markle</a>. However, that is not the coupling that is making headlines. During the Games, the Duke met with South Korea&#8217;s Minister of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, Park Min-shik. It was also <a href="https://koreajoongangdaily.joins.com/news/2023-09-11/national/diplomacy/Korea-launches-bid-to-host-Invictus-Games/1866502" target="_blank" rel="noopener">revealed in a Korean magazine, Korea JoongAng Daily</a>, that there was a discussion of hosting a future sporting event.

During their meeting, Park is said to have told Prince Harry that &#8220;The Invictus Games are more than just an international sporting event&#8221; and that selecting South Korea as the host country would be &#8220;an opportunity&#8221; to spread the Invictus message. And also revealed that if they were chosen, they would invite the twenty-two countries that were on their side during the Korean War.

The revelation of the Korean Ministry wanting to host the Duke&#8217;s sporting event came shortly after their meeting. But it is evident that the intention behind it comes from the platform he created on his Netflix series, Heart of Invictus.
<h2>The sporting event created by Prince Harry that made veterans feel whole again</h2>
Since August 30, Prince Harry, <a href="https://www.netflixjunkie.com/hollywood-news-prince-harry-once-again-wins-hearts-and-cheers-following-a-heartwarming-gesture-from-fans-at-invictus-games-opening/">who recently won hearts at the ceremony&#8217;s opening</a>, has had the world in a chokehold with his Invictus Games. He started it back in 2014 after he witnessed the US&#8217;s Warrior Games. Being a military man himself, it is no surprise that he saw the gap that the rest of the world failed to. But it is the lengths that he has gone to that put Heart Of Invictus on a platform that everyone could see.

The series was a complete success and brought viewers to tears with the high running emotions. However, the most important thing it showed viewers was the resilience and courage that every veteran seemed to have in him. It also showed how the event brought meaning back into their lives. And it seems like South Korea has picked up on that too and shares the same beliefs as Prince Harry when it comes to retired veterans and the respect they deserve.
