Meeting the parents was once the ordeal; now, apparently, the Fockers are the parents everyone else has to survive. In Focker-in-Law, the family’s long-running trust issues acquire a new target as Greg and Pam’s grown son prepares to marry a woman who may be far more formidable than anyone expected. Ariana Grande joins this comedy franchise built on awkward introductions, suspicious fathers and catastrophically personal questions.

The old guard is back, but this time the family gathering belongs to a new generation—and Jack Byrnes is still very much taking notes. The circle of trust is expanding, and the family’s next big test comes with a wedding ring attached.

The stars behind the Fockers in the new Meet the Parents movie

Directed by John Hamburg, Focker-in-Law is the fourth installment in the Meet the Parents franchise, following Meet the Parents (2000), Meet the Fockers (2004) and Little Fockers (2010). The November 25, 2026 release brings back familiar faces while introducing Greg and Pam Focker’s grown-up children and Olivia Jones, Henry’s girlfriend and a former FBI hostage negotiator.

With Jack Byrnes already suspicious of his future granddaughter-in-law, the family’s next gathering promises to be anything but relaxing.

Robert De Niro as Jack Byrnes: The Oscar-winning actor returns as the retired CIA agent whose lie-detector tests and surveillance habits have made Greg’s life miserable. Jack is now Olivia’s potential grandfather-in-law, and his opinion of her could determine the temperature of the entire family reunion.

Ben Stiller as Greg Focker: Stiller reprises his role as the well-meaning nurse who has spent three films trying to earn Jack’s approval. Now a father himself, Greg finds the tables turning as his son prepares to marry. His protective instincts may look suspiciously familiar to Jack’s.

Owen Wilson as Kevin Rawley: Wilson returns as Pam’s wealthy ex-fiancé, whose effortless charm has long been an irritant for Greg. His presence adds another familiar complication to a family that has never needed much help making things awkward.

Blythe Danner as Dina Byrnes: Danner is back as Jack’s wife and Pam’s mother. Often the warmer counterweight to her husband’s intensity, Dina returns as the family prepares to welcome a new member.

Teri Polo as Pam Focker: Polo reprises her role as Greg’s wife and the mother of Henry and Samantha. Having navigated the Byrnes family’s peculiar traditions for years, Pam now faces the prospect of watching her own children enter the same domestic circus.

Skyler Gisondo as Henry Focker: Known for Licorice Pizza, 2025's Superman and The Righteous Gemstones, Gisondo takes over the role of Greg and Pam’s son, previously played as a child by Colin Baiocchi in Little Fockers. Henry’s decision to marry Olivia sets the new story in motion.

Beanie Feldstein as Samantha Focker: Feldstein, known for Booksmart and Lady Bird, plays Henry’s fraternal twin sister. She takes the place of Daisy Tahan, who portrayed Samantha in the previous film, as the next generation of Fockers comes into focus.

Ariana Grande as Olivia Jones: The pop superstar and Wicked actor joins the franchise as Henry’s girlfriend and prospective bride. A former FBI hostage negotiator, Olivia is hardly an obvious candidate to crumble under Jack’s interrogation. Grande is the major newcomer at the center of the family’s latest round of suspicion.

Eduardo Franco: The Stranger Things and Booksmart actor joins the ensemble in a role that has not been publicly identified in the principal cast listings. His character details remain under wraps.

With De Niro and Stiller back in the family business and Grande joining a cast of established comic performers, Focker-in-Law has both nostalgia and a new source of friction working in its favor. The franchise’s central joke has always been that meeting the family is less about introductions than surviving judgment. Now Henry and Olivia get their turn, and Jack Byrnes is unlikely to make the welcome particularly welcoming.
