Industry insiders believe the final agreement could surpass $30 million, making it one of the largest Cannes market deals of 2026. The film is being produced by Blueprint Pictures alongside Studiocanal, with Pugh also attached as a producer. The screenplay comes from Olivier Award winner Laura Wade and Tony nominee Nick Payne, adding even more prestige to the package. Production is expected to begin in early 2027, with the film aiming for a large-scale theatrical rollout across multiple international markets.

Florence Pugh leads the cast of Netflix’s East of Eden
Florence Pugh is also set to headline Netflix’s upcoming limited series East of Eden, where she takes on the complex role of Cathy Ames. Based on East of Eden by John Steinbeck, the series explores generations of family conflict, morality, betrayal, and emotional trauma. Pugh’s casting has already generated significant excitement, especially given her recent acclaimed performances in Dune: Part Two, Oppenheimer, Midsommar, and Don't Worry Darling.
Joining Florence Pugh in the cast is Christopher Abbott as Adam Trask and Mike Faist as Charles Trask, bringing added emotional intensity to the adaptation’s central sibling rivalry storyline.
