Finn Wolfhard and Gabriel LaBelle Get Gloriously Unhinged in 'Crash Land' First Look

Saddle up for a chaotic ride as Finn Wolfhard and Gabriel LaBelle team up with Canadian actor Dempsey Bryk in his feature debut, Crash Land. The coming-of-age story leans into the offbeat and slightly chaotic energy of its two leads. After much anticipation, a first glimpse of the film has finally arrived, where both actors are seen to be completely immersed in their characters.
And if that first look is any indication, Crash Land is not interested in the usual dark-comedy gloom. Instead, it plays closer to a loose-limbed coming-of-age misadventure

Finn Wolfhard and Gabriel LaBelle’s first look from the upcoming film Crash Land has been shared on a post from DiscussingFilm and is already garnering buzz. LaBelle appears in a faded, muddied white crop top and white pants paired with high boots, holding a camera in his hands. Behind him, Wolfhard is seen slouched on the ground with a bottle in hand.
This still from the movie has been enough to get people debating its premise. The story follows two small-town amateur stuntmen who spend their days drinking, stirring up trouble in their community, and filming Jacka---inspired stunts. Both LaBelle, well known for his role in The Fabelmans, and Wolfhard, famous as Mike Wheeler from Stranger Things, will be stepping into roles that are quite different and unusual.
Whether the film can ultimately meet the expectations of a dark comedy remains to be seen. For Wolfhard, at least, the instincts are already in place. This marks his second project under the Kid Brother banner he shares with Bill Bryk, following the 2023 horror-comedy Hell of a Summer, and any lingering doubts about his comedic touch were quietly answered by a recent Saturday Night Live appearance, which made a convincing case all on its own.
Finn Wolfhard is hilarious in his SNL debut
Finn Wolfhard made an appearance on Saturday Night Live shortly after wrapping up his long run as Mike Wheeler in Stranger Things, which recently concluded with its fifth and final season. Having practically grown up on the show’s set, the actor did not hesitate to poke fun at his situation. At one point, he even joked about being ready to star in adult films.
“Child stars who are now ready to do adult films,” Wolfhard said on SNL.

Later, he was joined by his Stranger Things co-stars Gaten Matarazzo and Caleb McLaughlin. While his comment about adult films was clearly a joke, Wolfhard seems ready to take on more challenging and diverse roles. And his role in Crash Land is a perfect example of that shift.
