Reynolds also acknowledged that he owes everything to the movie, which is not surprising considering how much he learned from the experience. Not only did the film teach him valuable lessons about creative control and its importance, but it also led him to meet his wife, Blake Lively, on set. Lively played Carol Ferris in the 2011 superhero film, while Reynolds portrayed Hal Jordan.
While Reynolds’ film may have flopped upon its release, Green Lantern has found new life in 2026.

Moreover, the premiere of Lanterns likely drew attention to the 2011 movie, encouraging many viewers to revisit it. So, it will be interesting to see whether James Gunn could make room for Reynolds to join the series in a cameo, whether this season or a potential future one.
