This year marks the 25th anniversary of a franchise that has provided us with the high-speed cars-obsessed saga that has one central theme at the heart - the unbreakable bond of family. Taking this motto to the heart, Vin Diesel took his Fast and the Furious family and landed straight at the Croisette to celebrate the franchise’s big milestone in style. It was a dream for Diesel to take the Fast movie to the Cannes Film Festival, as revealed by his co-star and on-screen sister Jordana Brewster.

Jordana Brewster, Michelle Rodriguez, and Vin Diesel stood for photographers on Wednesday at the Grand Lumiere Theatre's renowned red stairs in Cannes alongside their Fast family. Meadow Walker, the 27-year-old daughter of the late actor Paul Walker, and producer Neal H. Moritz joined them.
While talking to Variety about the Fast franchise being honored at the Cannes Film Fest 2026, Brewster delved a bit into the upcoming Fast Forever, which will be the final movie of the original storyline. According to her, it will be of utmost importance to give proper tribute to Paul Walker through the film.
"Whether Brian is shown on film or if he’s just part of the reason they win or succeed, I’d like to see him be the champion of the whole thing," she expressed, weighing in on the priorities of the final Fast film.
She also revealed that the script is still unfinished and that she holds optimism that Walker's legacy will be the core of whatever is to come. As per her, it would be better if the late actor were a part of the bigger reason Dom and co. succeed in their final escapade.
Brewster also talked about her part in the franchise after Paul Walker’s demise and how Vin Diesel advocated for her inclusion in the most recent Fast movie.
Jordana Brewstar on Vin Diesel’s support
After Paul Walker’s death, his and Jordana Brewster’s storyline was mainly limited to the background, and the story mainly focused on Dom and his adventures now. But it was Vin Diesel’s idea to get her back in Fast X to bring her back, even if it was for a couple of scenes.
“Vin is really my brother. He’s been so loyal for the entire franchise. It could have died a long time ago had he not championed it so fearlessly,” the actress said about Diesel in regard to his dedication to the $7 billion big franchise.
“I’m tethered to Dom as well, and that’s not something we should ignore. And I love when Letty and Mia get together,” she further added.
