‘Fast & Furious 11’: Cast, Story, Release Date, and Everything We Know About the Final Ride

May 28, 2019 - Los Angeles, California, U.S - Vin Diesel attends F. Gary Gray's star ceremony on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the Category of Motion Pictures, on Tuesday, May 28, 2019, in Los Angeles.

For more than two decades, Fast & Furious has turned street racing into a global action mythology, where a quarter-mile can become a flight plan and family can outrun physics. Now the saga is preparing for its final lap with Fast Forever, the officially titled 11th main installment. The franchise is shifting into its final gear, with Louis Leterrier returning to direct and the story promising to bring the long-running saga back to its emotional roots.

The checkered flag is finally visible, but plenty of NOS remains in the tank. Here is everything known so far about the cast, story, and release plans.

Fast & Furious 11 Cast: The Toretto Family Returns

Vin Diesel remains the franchise anchor as Dominic Toretto, the street racer who transformed a Los Angeles garage crew into an international family.

Vin Diesel as Dominic Toretto: The spiritual and mechanical center of the saga, returning after the Fast X cliffhanger.

Michelle Rodriguez as Letty Ortiz: Dom’s wife and one of the franchise’s toughest drivers, with Rodriguez having been part of the series since the original 2001 film.

Jordana Brewster as Mia Toretto: Dom’s sister and Brian O’Conner’s longtime partner, continuing the family connection that has survived every franchise gear shift.

Tyrese Gibson as Roman Pearce: The wisecracking street racer who evolved from Brian’s old friend into one of Dom’s most dependable crew members.

Ludacris as Tej Parker: The technical brain of the team, bringing the franchise’s garage ingenuity to its final mission.

Sung Kang as Han Lue: The beloved drift specialist whose improbable return in F9 became one of the series’ most memorable reversals.

Dwayne Johnson as Luke Hobbs: The DSS powerhouse who went from Dom’s adversary to unlikely ally.

Jason Statham as Deckard Shaw: The former antagonist turned family-adjacent bruiser, last seen helping Dom’s crew.

Nathalie Emmanuel as Ramsey: The hacker and strategist whose technical expertise has repeatedly saved the team.

Jason Momoa as Dante Reyes: The flamboyant villain from Fast X, whose revenge campaign left Dom’s family facing catastrophe.

Charlize Theron and John Cena are also among the franchise names associated with the finale, while Gal Gadot has been reported as returning as Gisele. The potential return of Brian O’Conner remains particularly sensitive. Diesel previously said he wanted to reunite Dom and Brian, but that does not mean Paul Walker himself will return.

That distinction matters because Walker died in 2013. Any appearance would therefore require archival material, a stand-in, or digital effects rather than a conventional performance.

Fast & Furious 11 story: Back to where the engines started

After Fast X ended with Dom and his family facing Dante Reyes, the final movie has an enormous cliffhanger to resolve. The sequel is expected to continue that story, but Diesel has repeatedly indicated that the finale will also return to Los Angeles, car culture, and street racing. That could make Fast Forever a deliberate callback to the first film.

Instead of another globe-spanning escalation, the final chapter may bring the saga back to the streets where Dom, Brian, Letty and their crew first learned that a ten-second car could carry more emotional weight than an entire action set piece. Diesel recently said the latest script made him cry and called it the best he has read in decades, promising a story that brings the saga full circle. The screenplay is being handled by Michael Lesslie, while Leterrier is returning behind the camera.

Fast & Furious 11 release date: When will Fast Forever arrive?

Fast Forever is officially scheduled to hit theaters on March 17, 2028. Universal has confirmed the date, making this the current release target after years of delays and production uncertainty. The wait is unusually long for the franchise, but the final ride is clearly being treated as a major closing chapter rather than another quick trip around the block.

After 11 main films, countless impossible jumps, resurrected characters, exploding cars, family dinners and enough gear changes to break a transmission, Fast Forever has one job left: stick the landing.
