Long-term couples eventually get comfortable enough to do all kinds of weird things in front of each other, from ugly crying to eating cereal at midnight to passing gas without a second thought. Adam Brody and Leighton Meester, married since 2014 with two kids, seem like the kind of couple who have earned that level of comfort.

Yet Brody just revealed there is one boundary they have never crossed. On Dax Shepard's Armchair Expert podcast, Brody got surprisingly candid about the one bodily function he and Meester still keep private.

Sparking a hilarious contrast with his costars' own marriage habits.

Adam Brody and Leighton Meester keep one surprisingly private habit

During the October 26 episode, Adam Brody joined Kristen Bell, Justine Lupe, and Timothy Simons for a digestive detour. Asked about passing gas around his wife, Brody confirmed that the couple generally avoid doing so in each other's presence.

“I have other bad habits, but farting's never been a big issue for me,” he explained, adding a magnificently understated “Not to brag.”

Twelve years of marriage, two children, and the domestic atmosphere remains under diplomatic protection. Bell and Shepard were astonished. The couple freely admitted doing so themselves. Shepard joked that Bell has endured practically every noise human anatomy can manufacture, an Olympic-level endurance sport.

Lupe offered her own relationship timeline. Passing gas around her husband began after they had children, a development she called an “evolution.” Parenthood apparently unlocks abilities unavailable in the original marriage package. Brody admitted another domestic imperfection: his proposal to Meester. He described the occasion as very pedestrian and said the only romantic element was how quickly he asked.

Nobody Wants This Season 3 brings Joanne and Noah under one roof

Adam Brody reunited with several familiar Nobody Wants This faces on the podcast. The romantic comedy follows Noah, a rabbi, and Joanne, a podcast host played by Bell, as their relationship navigates differing beliefs and spectacularly nosy relatives. Season 3 arrived on Netflix on October 22, with all ten episodes streaming.

This time, Noah and Joanne move in together. Their story turns toward the awkward firsts of building a shared home, discovering daily routines, and managing a love life that now has communal cupboard space. Romance may be eternal; negotiating the dishwasher is another matter.

Lupe returns as Joanne's sister Morgan, Simons as Noah's brother Sasha, and Jackie Tohn as Esther. New faces include Andrew Rannells, Sarah Silverman, and Keyla Monterroso Mejia, promising fresh complications. Creator Erin Foster has emphasized keeping the central pair playful as their commitment deepens. Netflix has yet to confirm Season 4, leaving the future open.
