His android assassin is one of the most memorably chilling faces in the history of this genre. But lately, speculations regarding the reboot of the franchise have been swirling around and fans are eager to know more.

Two names that have been connected to the remake of this revival are Henry Cavill and Margot Robbie. But are these stars actually a part of the upcoming project or not?

Posters of Terminator film featuring Henry Cavill and Margot Robbie recently surfaced on social media. It showed the Barbie star in place of Linda Hamilton’s Sarah Connor. As for the former Superman, he took over the relentless cyborg of Arnold Schwarzenegger. Not just that, these photos came with intriguing descriptions of the film. “Get ready for this thrilling remake of ‘THE TERMINATOR,’ hitting screens in 2025!” read the caption.

The post noted that the 40-year-old would bring a fresh intensity to the iconic character. They promised through this remark the franchise would embark on a new exhilarating journey. “In a post-apocalyptic world, witness Sarah’s relentless determination as she raises her ten-year-old son, John,” the post claimed. Although appearing convincing, these promotional art pieces have been confirmed as fake. They originated from a Facebook page famous for its satirical movie posters.

While Cavill and Robbie may not be confirmed to star in the new film, Arnold Schwarzenegger has announced his exit from the franchise.

In May this year, Arnold Schwarzenegger did an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. During the conversation, he addressed the question if the Terminator franchise has come to an end. “The franchise is not done. I’m done,” said the 76-year-old. According to the actor, the franchise will move forward with new themes that do not involve him. His statement seemingly pointed toward the statement James Cameron shared about the reboot of the franchise.

In an interview with the SmartLess podcast, the director revealed future Terminator films would mark the relaunch of the franchise. “I would make it much more about the AI side of it than bad robots gone crazy,” explained Cameron. This could involve casting A-list talent like Henry Cavill or Margot Robbie as Terminator characters. However, the British superstar has been involved lately with many projects like the Warhammer series, it seems impossible for him to be a part of it.
