Matt Reeves’ highly anticipated sequel to The Batman has kept the rumor mill buzzing with new speculations almost every month. Whether it is the film’s delayed release schedule or its plot, speculation surrounding the movie has run wild. There have also been speculations about the cast, with fans wondering which new characters could appear in the film.

The latest rumor has even dragged Stranger Things actor Noah Schnapp into the conversation. There are rumors that Schnapp could play the role of Robin in the film. However, following the recent incident in which Sebastian Stan’s comments were misinterpreted and sparked false rumors, how much truth is there to the claim that Schnapp has been cast in the film?

An X post from Discussing Fraud claimed that Noah Schnapp had been cast as Robin in The Batman II. However, the X account Discussing Fraud is a parody account and shared the fake rumor. So, the actor is not suiting up in a superhero costume to save Gotham.

The same rumor took over social media last December, but that claim also originated from a parody account called Discussing Fish. Therefore, The Batman II set is likely not Schnapp’s next destination. Moreover, there has been no official update confirming whether Robin will even appear in the film.

While Schnapp is not part of the cast, director Matt Reeves recently confirmed several other rumored names. He shared multiple GIFs on X to announce that Scarlett Johansson, Brian Tyree Henry, Sebastian Koch, and Charles Dance have joined the cast of The Batman II. He also shared a GIF of Sebastian Stan on X, along with a caption announcing his involvement in the film.

“In a Gotham state of mind… Welcome,” he wrote, confirming Stan as part of the cast.

While Stan will appear in The Batman II, there was some confusion over which character he is set to play in the movie.

Previously, during an interview with the French outlet Le Journal du Dimanche, Sebastian Stan was reported to have said that he would play the role of villain Harvey Dent in The Batman II. The news quickly made the rounds on social media. However, it turned out that the actor had been misquoted by the French outlet. 

The outlet later corrected the misinterpretation. This came as a disappointment to many fans who had long hoped to see Stan play Dent, only to see those hopes dashed. However, the incident has once again sparked speculation about Stan’s role, as well as which characters the other newly announced cast members could play in Gotham.
