Apart from Will Smith's talents, a lot of his appeal came from his 'liked by everyone' status. However, that one unfortunate Oscar night and the bombshell drops about his personal life put a deep stain on that perception, leading the actor to find every possible avenue for a revival in the industry. Smith is not only placing his bets on the upcoming Bad Boys installment but also making moves in his musical career on the side. And it seems the actor is finally rising up from the ashes with some interesting projects on the horizon.

One of the rumored projects, that has been the talk of the town lately, is a remake of Mrs. Doubtfire- a movie that seems tailor-made for Will Smith. But is it really in the making? 

The rumors started after a Facebook user named YODA BBY ABY shared a poster of Mrs. Doubtfire remake on the platform featuring Will Smith. As per the poster, the remake is supposed to be hitting the screens by March 2025. It also featured Zoe Saldana in the lead role alongside Smith. However, the poster did not mention any production house's name on it. And nor did the makers of the franchise announce anything about a remake.

This makes the credibility of the poster, which is now going viral on multiple social media platforms, highly doubtful. And there is a chance that it is only a fan's imagination that has been taken a bit too seriously. But, one cannot blame the fan, really. The original movie was released in 1993. And looking at the themes of the movie, it can be said that if a remake were to be made today, it is only Will Smith who could do complete justice to it, especially since he can probably relate to some of  themes.

There is more than one reason as to why the makers of Mrs. Doubtfire should take this casting seriously. 

 Mrs. Doubtfire was much more than just a slapstick comedy. Based on the 1987 English novel Madame Doubtfire, the movie is about a father who will do anything for his children and not lose them. It is also about a husband who goes through the turmoil of a rough, broken marriage. The film presents the emotional devastation that a bitter relationship between parents can wreak on the children, all while maintaining the comic element the film is known for. 

Will Smith has extensive experience with comedies having started his Hollywood career with sitcoms. On top of that, the actor, despite not being a fan of method acting, can put some of his personal learnings to use and make the character shine even better. While everyone wants to see the 55-year-old in the upcoming high-octane action flick, a comedy-drama like Mrs. Doubtfire can further remind the audience of the range Will Smith as an actor possesses.
