Antony Starr has reportedly been linked to Reverse-Flash in the new DC Universe, and the internet reacted the way it always does, by sprinting before checking the map. The role belongs to Eobard Thawne, a speedster villain who loves the Flash right up until he hates him. Starr already spent years terrifying audiences as Homelander, so the pairing sounds almost too tidy. Tidy stories, however, deserve a much closer look.

While fans fit Starr for a yellow suit, the real answer has some bad news for the tailors.

Where Antony Starr from The Boys stands with DC and Reverse-Flash

No, Antony Starr is not joining the DCU as Reverse-Flash, and there is no credible evidence suggesting he is even being considered for the role. The rumor originated from an X account, but social media claims are not always reliable. James Gunn and DC Studios have also made no official statements about the alleged casting. For now, this appears to be speculation rather than a confirmed development.

The claim traces back to a recent post from the X account @Cinema_Cravezz, which describes itself as sharing official, unofficial, parody, and sarcastic news. That post said Starr is being considered and that Reverse-Flash would debut in an upcoming Flash movie. No such film is currently in active development anywhere in the DCU. Gunn has indicated that Flash and Aquaman will not appear for at least a couple of years.

A Year Later, James Gunn Still Clears 'Superman' Plotholes Amid Fan Questions

While the Flash movie remains imaginary, the fan casting is very real, and its logic holds up better than expected.

Why Antony Starr from The Boys keeps topping Reverse-Flash fan wish lists

Fans have cheered this idea on for years, and the fan art archive is larger than the actual evidence. The appeal starts with psychology. Eobard Thawne begins as a devoted admirer of the Flash, then turns into a gleeful tormentor once he learns he is destined to be the villain. Antony Starr already plays that exact emotional journey as Homelander, with public charm covering a fragile ego that cracks without any notice.

Controlled menace is the second piece. Thawne is at his most frightening when calm and polite, and Starr has built a career on exactly that kind of quiet cruelty. His physical presence, seen in The Boys and Banshee, sells both the sharp-featured scientist and the yellow-suited threat. A Reverse-Flash with a believable personal obsession would beat the generic speedster villain. For now, though, Starr in yellow remains pure fan fiction.
