Chris Hemsworth has spent more than a decade swinging a hammer as Thor, yet a fresh online claim wants him in a very different heavy suit. Social feeds are buzzing about a new voice for Optimus Prime after the loss of Peter Cullen, the actor who defined the Autobot leader. No, Chris Hemsworth has not been cast as Optimus Prime in any live-action Transformers film linked to Michael Bay, as claimed by a parody, unverified X account. Hemsworth’s only connection to the character is the 2024 animated feature Transformers One, in which he voiced a young Optimus Prime, known as Orion Pax. The casting suited the character’s younger, brasher personality in the origin story. Hemsworth has also repeatedly said he never attempted to imitate the iconic voice Peter Cullen made famous.

The claim came from the X account @ChaosCrave_, saying Hemsworth would take over after Cullen died on August 26, 2026, at age 85. Cullen had voiced Optimus Prime since the 1980s, and his final turn was the short film Optimus Prime: Awakening. The eighth live-action film does exist, with Steven Spielberg returning and Bay in early talks, but voice casting remains unannounced, and Hemsworth appears only in scattered fan guesswork.
