A post from an X parody page called Hoops Crave claimed that actor Will Smith and Chris Rock are set to sit down together for a much-awaited interview with ABC News. Unfortunately, no credible news outlet has confirmed this report, making it nothing but untrue. Until anything is officially confirmed by the actors themselves, the claim stands as nothing but fake.
The two were once said to be good friends. However, several reports have stated that neither of them has reached out to the other for a conversation. Following the slapping incident, Smith was also banned from attending the Oscars for 10 years, which means he will not be able to return to the event until 2032. Much later, he also resigned from the Academy. While a public reunion and conversation have yet to take place, the Independence Day actor has spoken about the incident.
Just last year, Will Smith reflected on what happened and shared how he dealt with the criticism after that day.

Last year, Will Smith had a conversation with 1Xtra’s Remi Burgz. While speaking about the incident, he described it as brutal and later opened up about how he took some time away to focus on working on himself after that incident.
"For the first time in my career, [I was] having to deal with a level of disapproval that I never had to experience," Will said. "The addiction to the approval of others that I had to dissolve, it was brutal," he said.

It was a shocking moment for those present at the event, as well as for viewers watching from afar. Some even believed it was part of the script at first until the awkward atmosphere and later reports confirmed it was real. With the ban in place, the situation remains huge, especially given how strict the Oscars are about such matters. Now, two years after the incident, whether the two will agree to sit down for an interview is something only time can tell.
