The sequel to F1 is currently in development, but Kerry Condon, during her interview with ScreenRant’s Ash Crossan, explained that while progress has been made on the movie, there are still some scheduling conflicts. As she revealed, the delay is because Joseph Kosinski, who directed the first film, has yet to clear his schedule and make time for the sequel. Moreover, Condon also explained that the film must be shot based on the F1 schedule.
"Yeah, I have heard about that, and they all love the script, but I guess it's going to be when Joe, our director, is available, and then also we have to go with the F1 schedule. So it might be a little bit of a wait, but I think that's okay,” she said.
With her final comments, she explained that she understands the reasons behind the delay. While the director’s availability is important, the film also needs to be shot according to the Formula One schedule since the previous movie filmed several scenes at real racing tracks.

As a result, the first film raised the bar significantly, and there are now even greater expectations surrounding the sequel. After all, the original movie earned $634 million worldwide.
Moreover, the star of the film, Brad Pitt is also likely occupied with his new upcoming film.
