According to screeners, the first 9 episodes span 53 minutes, 46 minutes, 45 minutes, 49 minutes, 44 minutes, 49 minutes, 53 minutes, 45 minutes, and 49 minutes respectively. The mix of slightly longer and standard-length chapters suggests a balance between tightly knit plot delivery and more intense, grounded unraveling, keeping the storytelling flexible.
The Pitt Season 2 will follow the same 15-episode format as the 2026 Critics' Choice Awards favorite first season. The episode titles are also unchanged, with the episodes counting down the events in the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center’s emergency room from 7 am to 9 pm.
Noah Wyle returns as Dr. Michael Robinavitch alongside Shawn Hatosy as Dr. Jack Abbot, Surpiya Ganesg as Dr. Mohan, Fiona Dourif as Dr. McKay, and more. Notably, while screeners got access to the first nine episodes of the 15-episode series at once, the case would be different for the general audience.
The Pitt Season 2 will debut on the platform HBO Max on January 8, 2026, with only the first episode, and subsequent episodes will drop weekly.
