Amid the growing hype around HBO’s Harry Potter TV series, a Warner Bros. executive made a bold statement about the show at an event in London, as per Deadline. JB Perrette, CEO and President of Global Streaming and Games, said that the series has the potential to become one of the best shows in streaming. And he began by raving about the production and efforts behind the scenes.
"The scope of the production, the detail, meticulousness of what they’re going through and what they’ve built takes theatrical to just a whole different level,” Perrette said.
He further added, "I really think this is the streaming event of the decade."

Anticipation has been sky-high ever since the announcement of the series based on J.K. Rowling’s seven bestselling books, and now Parrette's statement as reported by Deadline has added the cherry on top. The show will introduce a new cast of young actors, including Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, and Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger. Paapa Essiedu has been cast as Professor Snape, while John Lithgow will take on the role of Headmaster Albus Dumbledore.
Each season will cover the events of one book, with the first season based on Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. As more details about the series continue to emerge, it is clear that the show aims to explore the story more deeply than either the books or the films were able to. Recently, Los Pratt also made a surprising revelation.
The Harry Potter series will explore Draco Malfoy’s life beyond Hogwarts
Lox Pratt, who will play the role of Draco Malfoy in HBO’s Harry Potter series, recently spoke about his role and the series in his interview with 1883 Magazine. He revealed that the series will explore his character, Draco Malfoy’s life, more than the books and the movies. And that includes his life at home with his mysterious family.
“You get to see all the teachers in their little rooms. You get to see Draco at home,” he hinted at the plot. “I won’t spoil too much about that, but there are some brilliant scenes at home where you start to get an insight into how he is.”

Clearly, the series aims to go beyond what the movies showed while staying true to the books, their characters, and the story. And Pratt’s comments suggest that the show will explore the depth of several overlooked characters and storylines. So, it is possible that characters like house-elf, Winky, and the poltergeist, Peeves, who were absent in the films, may finally get their chance to appear in the series.
