‘Euphoria’ Season 3, Episode 4 Recap: Careers Are Shifting for Better or Worse

Oftentimes, it is when you find the most stable footing in life, just when it feels like nothing can go wrong from here, that a storm is waiting on your next step, one so violent it breaks your life into pieces you did not think could shatter. And in the Euphoria-verse, that seems to be a fate too common. Episode 3 had already set the systematic downfall in motion. This one just zeroes in on the unfolding.
Episode 4 fractures Cassie’s dreamscape just past repair, traps Rue as a mole in the system, and strips Nate of his pretended dominance, pushing them into a crisis they might not be able to escape.

Episode 4 starts with Rue being captured by the DEA. But they do not want to put her behind bars. They want to plant her within the cartel as a “snitch.” It is already menacing to be loyal to Alamo, but now being disloyal to him? Nonetheless, Rue agrees to be the mole. The DEA swaps the d**** in Rue's bag with sugar pills and laxatives in hopes of tracing Alamo back to Laurie.
We are also introduced to a new girl at Alamo’s, Kitty, who becomes a treat for the strip club mogul, as he celebrates killing Laurie’s bird.

Meanwhile, Nate is busy looking for meaning in the absolute disaster that unfolded on his wedding day. Cassie, however, does not buy anything Nate says anymore and reaches out to the one person she has put down since high school, Maddy. Maddy, now more of a digital p***, helps Cassie’s influencer career.
She not only gives her frenemy a makeover and does a photoshoot but also takes her to a high-profile influencer party where Cassie, being Cassie, draws enough attention to get things going.
While Cassie indulges in having c*** sniffed out of her belly button and, well, c*****, Nate gets on his hands and knees to beg for his life.
Nate and Cassie now exist in different worlds
We see Nate in front of the permit, speaking a language high school Nate would gag at, quoting the Bible, and begging for his life back. None of it works, and the formerly tough, ruthless bad boy of East Highland is left melting on the floor, sobbing. Jules also lands a real job, thanks to Lexi, creating a painting for LA Nights.
However, Jules’ erotic vision does not fit the show’s theme and ends up costing them a significant amount of money, leading Lexi to get chewed out by her boss for hiring Jules in the first place.

Meanwhile, Rue draws suspicion from Magick after she hears Rue seemingly trying to persuade Kitty to reconsider her profession. Magick quickly alerts Big Eddy. The DEA also informs Rue that she has been compromised. As they grill Rue over her intentions, a group of muggers enter, shoot Big Eddy, rob him, and run away. However, they are caught on camera, and upon investigation, it turns out Faye was driving their car, hinting at Laurie’s involvement in the attack.
