'Euphoria' Season 3 Episode 1: Is Fenzo Alive?

Published 04/13/2026, 1:48 AM EDT

Since its debut on June 16, 2019, Euphoria has carved its space as a defining force in teen drama, pulling audiences deep into a world of chaos, addiction, identity, and fragile youth, led by Zendaya’s haunting portrayal of Rue. Across two seasons, the series didn’t just build a fandom; it built an obsession, where every character carried a storm of their own. But as the spotlight now shifts toward Season 3, one question refuses to fade, surrounding the fate of Fezco, the fan-favourite played long by Angus Cloud, last seen caught in a violent shootout that left his survival hanging by a thread.

Thus, as Euphoria Season 3 once again builds the chaos, Fezco’s storyline has already begun stealing the loudest attention.

The third instalment of Euphoria has recently premiered on April 12, 2026, with its opening episode pushing the story forward through a striking five-year time jump on Ándale’, moving beyond its high school setting. However, while many believed Fezco might not have survived, the narrative unfolds through quiet conversations as Zendaya’s Rue urges Maude Apatow’s Lexi to reconnect with him, revealing that he still misses her even as she hesitates, with his story now placing him behind bars serving a 30-year sentence. So yes, Fezco is alive in Euphoria 3, staying connected through phone calls even as his story continues off-screen.

“Just pick up the phone and call him. It’s not like he’s going anywhere. He’s in prison for 30 years,” Rue said.

Meanwhile, speaking about Fezco’s arc, creator Sam Levinson shared with Variety that the show keeps him present through phone conversations, adding that if he could not keep Angus Cloud alive in real life, he chose to keep him alive within the story, noting that Cloud would have loved how his character unfolds this season. However, with this marking just the beginning of Euphoria’s final chapter, Season 3 is set to continue its run until May 31, 2026, promising more turns ahead, exclusively on HBO Max.

And while Fezco’s survival marks just the beginning of surprises, Euphoria’s final chapter is set to bring back its core cast while introducing new faces ready to stir even more chaos.

Zendaya returns alongside familiar faces and new additions in Euphoria 3

As Zendaya’s Rue anchors the opening chapter of Euphoria Season 3, the franchise steps into its final phase with its core cast returning to a world that feels both familiar and more fractured than ever. Alongside her, Hunter Schafer, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Alexa Demie, and Maude Apatow continue to carry forward a narrative that has only grown sharper with time, while Dominic Fike, Martha Kelly, Chloe Cherry, and Colman Domingo deepen the emotional and psychological layers of this evolving story.

At the same time, Season 3 expands its universe with a striking lineup of new faces, including Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Sharon Stone, Toby Wallace, Natasha Lyonne, and Danielle Deadwyler, alongside appearances from ROSALÍA, Marshawn Lynch, and Trisha Paytas, pushing the narrative into a wider, more unpredictable space. However, this shift also comes with notable absences, as Barbie Ferreira, Storm Reid, Austin Abrams, Nika King, and Algee Smith step away from the central lineup, marking a clear transition into the show’s final chapter.

Meanwhile, as Euphoria Season 3 kicks off its final chapter with Episode 301 already surprising fans by keeping Fezco alive, the story seems packed with many more twists waiting to unfold in the episodes ahead.
