Changes are always difficult to navigate, especially when stepping into a world as massive as the MCU, something Emma Corrin experienced firsthand, comparing their MCU debut set to a theme park. Their acting journey has been nothing short of remarkable, rising from indie film darling to international stardom.
After captivating audiences with their breakout role in the Netflix series The Crown as Princess Diana, Corrin doubled down on period dramas with My Policeman and Lady Chatterley's Lover. However, they then made a bold pivot, abandoning historical costumes for superhero chaos by joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
That transition surely did overwhelm the indie princess.

Emma Corrin says Deadpool & Wolverine felt like a theme park
In a recent Variety sitdown, Emma Corrin opened up about just how overwhelming the leap into Marvel truly was. Moving from intimate, character-driven films to one of the biggest productions in Hollywood left them feeling completely out of their depth. The sheer scale, from elaborate sets to high-budget effects, created an almost surreal atmosphere that was hard to process.
“I felt like I was at some theme park all the time because things were just so overwhelming and I was like, ‘This cannot be real. I must be walking around with a visitor’s pass. Like, I can’t belong here,’” Corrin shared. Despite those initial doubts, the environment quickly became more welcoming thanks to the people around them.
Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and director Shawn Levy played a key role in easing Corrin into the process. They made the experience feel surprisingly grounded, taking the time to connect before filming and offering support throughout the shoot. Corrin explained that the trio helped shrink the intimidating scale of the production into something far more manageable.
That sense of belonging has since shaped how Corrin views their future within the franchise.
Emma Corrin wants to return as Cassandra Nova
In the same Variety interview, when asked whether they would return as Cassandra Nova, Corrin did not hesitate. Their response was immediate and enthusiastic, signaling a strong attachment to the character despite her apparent fate in Deadpool & Wolverine.
“I absolutely would, 100%,” Corrin said, adding, “I think her story’s not over.” Even though Cassandra Nova meets her end in the film’s finale, Corrin believes there is still plenty of room for the character to evolve.
Given Marvel’s ongoing exploration of multiverses and alternate timelines, the possibility of a return remains wide open. That narrative flexibility keeps the door ajar for characters thought to be gone. Corrin even pitched a playful idea for how the character could come back.

“I would like to see a Professor X and Cassandra Nova bonding film, a sibling comedy like Step Brothers. Make it happen! Internet, do your thing!” they joked.
The idea may be lighthearted, but it highlights how much Corrin sees untapped potential in the character. Cassandra Nova’s role as the central villain controlling the Void made her a standout presence in Deadpool & Wolverine. With Marvel continuing to revisit characters through alternate versions and timelines, Corrin’s return feels less like a long shot and more like an eventuality.
