Death in Apartment 603: What Happened to Ellen Greenberg? follows the strange death of 27-year-old first-grade teacher Ellen Greenberg, whose fiancé discovered her dead in their Philadelphia apartment during a violent blizzard. He called 911, and the medics discovered that she had been stabbed 20 times throughout her body, including the neck, spine, and top of the head.

Her fiancé, TV producer Sam Goldberg, 28, went to the gym downstairs in their building on January 26, 2011. Upon returning, he found the gate to be locked, and there was no response from Ellen for almost an hour, so he decided to shoulder his way in and found Ellen dead on the kitchen floor. He immediately called 911, and the case was sent to a medical examiner for further investigation of the cause of death.     

Despite finding stab wounds and 11 other bruises, the medical examiner for the case, Dr. Marlon Osbourne, altered the cause of her premature death from homicide to s***ide. Sandee and Josh Greenberg, Ellen's parents, fought nonstop to have the case reviewed since they thought their daughter had been k***ed rather than committing s***ide. 

They were right to do so, as the case did get reopened and is now being investigated as a homicide. The documentary offers a thorough examination of the case and the family's continuous fight for justice through professional studies, crime scene footage, and interviews with the Greenbergs.
