Surviving in the brutal world of Westeros is not easy, especially for an 11-year-old. Dexter Sol Ansell, who plays young Egg in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, knows this all too well. While he has no trouble handling the challenges of acting in the series, he did run into one unexpected issue, which is the bit of ‘cursing’ that is required for most of the characters in the series.

Now, Game of Thrones viewers are no strangers to harsh and offensive language. However, Ansell himself, who is not fond of it, is forced to use it in the series for one specific motivation.

Many of the characters in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms are seen using strong language, and Dexter Sol Ansell is no stranger to it either. Now, his co-star, who plays Ser Lyonel Baratheon, believes the young actor is quite comfortable with the language, while he himself struggled to be at ease about cursing around a 9-year-old. However, Sol Ansell had a different response in a behind-the-scenes video during the making of the show’s second or third episodes.

“I don’t like cursing at all and I only do it because it is my job. Yeah,” he said.

As hilarious as both actors’ opinions on the matter were, Sol Ansell’s professionalism and dedication to his work are also quite impressive. He was just nine years old when filming for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms began. Now, at eleven, the actor is already quite adept at handling interviews, too.

Dexter Sol Ansell was thrilled to play a Targaryen

After much anticipation, Egg’s true identity as a Targaryen prince was finally revealed in Episode 3 of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Not only fans, but the young actor himself had been waiting for a long time to share his thoughts on one of the show’s biggest revelations. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, he opened up about feeling like a dragon after finding out more about his character.

“Feels like I'm a dragon. I just wanna jump out my window and go 'wee!' and breathe fire. Yeah, it feels exciting to be a Targaryen," he said.
