Plot of Eddington
According to the official synopsis, Eddington is a 2025 contemporary Western film. Ari Aster has written and directed the flick. The movie revolves around the social and political turmoil caused by the devastating COVID-19 pandemic in the fictional city of Eddington, New Mexico. Eddington centers on a pair stranded in a desert town. While at first it seems welcoming, after nightfall, sinister forces surface (via Variety).
Set in May 2020, a face-off between a small-town sheriff and mayor sparks a dangerous situation as “neighbor is pitted against neighbor” in Eddington. Aster wrote a script for a contemporary Western flick, which he thought of making his directorial debut. Although he made Hereditary and Midsommar first, it was only later that he updated the film to take place during the COVID-19 pandemic.
