DC Studios is widening the scope of its ever-expanding Batman mythos, allowing multiple storytellers to tackle the Caped Crusader across different films and television projects. Among these upcoming entries, a major update has revealed a fascinating new direction for one particular title centered on Bruce Wayne's legacy. Now, whispers from the industry indicate that the dark, rain-slicked corners of Gotham are about to get even bigger.

Recent reports reveal that the highly anticipated animated feature Dynamic Duo is officially slated to anchor itself within Matt Reeves' gritty cinematic universe.

Dynamic Duo shifts to Matt Reeves’ camp

According to a fresh report from The Wrap, the theatrical animated feature Dynamic Duo - which turns its narrative spotlight onto Dick Grayson and Jason Todd - is reportedly slated to take place within Matt Reeves' cinematic universe. While ScreenRant reached out to Warner Bros. for comment, the trade publication provided key details regarding the 2028 project.

The report states that 2028 will bring the release of Dynamic Duo, a DC Studios film produced by Swaybox. Based in New Orleans, Swaybox utilizes a unique technique that merges physical puppetry with cutting-edge computer animation, backed by partial ownership from Warner Bros.

DC Studio locks in its Dynamic Duo

Casting updates have steadily trickled out for the upcoming animated venture, securing Mason Thames and Logan Kim to step into the iconic capes of the legendary sidekick duo Dick Grayson and Jason Todd. Interestingly, the production had reportedly left the role of the Dark Knight entirely uncast before recent industry whispers pointed toward Matt Reeves' orbit.

Given that the filmmaker is steering the project behind the scenes, the absence of a cinematic Bruce Wayne suddenly makes complete sense if the studio was secretly engineering a bridge into Reeves' expanding Elseworlds continuity.

Placing these youthful iterations of the crime-fighting partners squarely into Robert Pattinson's gritty sandbox opens the door for a potential live-action or animated crossover down the road, though it remains a lingering question whether Thames and Kim might eventually leap from voicing the roles to portraying them physically on camera.
