According to Deadline, Amazon MGM Studios has officially acquired Country Roads. The new romantic dramedy from Academy Award-nominated writer Allison Schroeder has Dwayne Johnson, manager/ex-wife Dany Garcia, and Hiram Garcia producing it through their Seven Bucks Productions banner.

The project has entered its pre-production phase after Amazon MGM purchased the rights to it. With the Seven Bucks team handling the production, Schroeder writes the script, which assures a powerful creative direction together with Amazon MGM's international distribution capabilities. Schroeder's body of work includes Christopher Robin, Frozen II, Heart of Stone, and A Minecraft Movie, among several other hits.

There is no confirmation for the casting team of Country Roads yet, but its decorated behind-the-scenes team, which possesses exceptional talent, indicates a phenomenal ensemble as well.
