The Yellowstone universe is spreading its branches in every direction possible, with the most recent addition being the Dutton Ranch, which premiered on May 15, 2026, and concluded after a 9-episode run on July 3. After Yellowstone ends, the show follows Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler as they start over on a ranch in southern Texas. But as new issues emerge and the past starts to haunt them, the couple and their adopted son, Carter, are put in a difficult situation that will require all of their willpower to resolve.

Although a release date for Dutton Ranch Season 2 has not yet been disclosed, development is in full gear. The new showrunner for the series is Benjamin Cavell. On June 24, 2026, just before the season 1 finale aired, Paramount+ formally renewed Dutton Ranch for Season 2 after the show's record-breaking launch with 12.9 million viewers worldwide in its first week.

Filming for Dutton Ranch Season 2 is anticipated to start in early 2027, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The authors for the show will shortly start working on Season 2, so the remainder of 2026 will be devoted to crafting and polishing screenplays before the episodes are produced.

Fort Worth, Texas, USA, serves as the Montana ranch setting for the series' on-location filming. The vast expanses, ranch properties, and genuine Western atmosphere required to create the Dutton universe are found in Texas. Studio facilities in the Fort Worth region may host more filming for the show.

Dutton Ranch is available on Paramount+. Those who have not yet watched the show may currently stream all nine of season 1's episodes, while more arrive in the upcoming Season 2.
