There is marketing, and then there is the Dune franchise. The sci-fi juggernaut is clearly looking to make every bit of its success count before bringing fans back to Arrakis. Dune: Part Three, the upcoming instalment, is highly anticipated for several reasons. Besides bringing Denis Villeneuve’s acclaimed trilogy to a close, the film could also become part of another theatrical showdown worthy of the post-Barbenheimer era. But before the spice starts flowing on the big screen, the franchise has a little more business to take care of.

With just over a month to go before Dune: Part Three hits theatres, the makers are bringing the first two films back to cinemas, and with a special treat along.

Fans get an exclusive sneak peek at Dune: Part Three at the re-releases

The makers are taking fans back to Arrakis for one last refresher. Dune: Part One and Two are returning to IMAX theatres from November 13, with individual screenings and double features scheduled through November 17 in select regions. And because simply rewatching two epic sci-fi films is not enough, each screening will also include an exclusive sneak peek at Dune: Part Three. The preview promises a first look at the film's 19-year time jump.

The trailer is expected to show Paul's descent into a brutal galactic dictatorship, Chani's surprising alliance with the shape-shifting Scytale, and the return of a resurrected Duncan Idaho. Tickets for the North American re-release go on sale on Friday, October 30, 2026.

There will also be screenings throughout November alongside the re-release.

Why not to miss Dune: Part Three

While author Frank Herbert wrote six original Dune novels, and director Denis Villeneuve developed these films strictly as a self-contained three-part arc. Part Three will wrap up the overarching narrative and character arcs he began in 2026.

Unlike the standard sci-fi action blockbusters of the first two entries, Part Three is structurally framed as a tight, psychological political thriller. It explores the dark reality and internal collapse of an absolute dictatorship rather than a standard hero's journey, making it a must-watch to wrap up the sprawling trilogy.
