An upcoming sports comedy series called Dugout Dads is making waves for reuniting several cast members from the beloved 1993 baseball classic The Sandlot. The series is set in the chaotic world of youth Little League baseball and follows an idealistic father through a world of over-competitive parents and coaches, rather than the young players themselves. The cast is a mix of returning stars from The Sandlot and familiar faces from television, making the project a nostalgic reunion of sorts, but telling a new, unrelated story.

The Sandlot is about fifth-grader Scotty Smalls (Patrick Renna), who moves to a new town in the summer of 1962 and has trouble finding his place. Smalls joins a neighborhood baseball team run by Benny “The Jet” Rodriguez, makes lifelong friends, and learns the game.
