From The Staircase to Burden of Guilt: Haunted By Lies, crime documentaries shed light on shocking revelations, horrifying stories, and mysteries. One such documentary is Doula: A True Crime, which focuses on how more than 40 women fell for the same web of lies and manipulation. It explores the manipulation and deception that went on for months until the truth finally came to light.
Here is everything you need to know about the series and how to stream it online.
How to watch Doula: A True Crime
Doula: A True Crime is available to watch on Apple TV. This three-part docuseries follows a woman who deceived more than 40 doulas. It focuses on Kaitlyn Braun of Brantford, Ont., who approached more than 40 doulas and shared her heartbreaking story of s***** assault and pregnancy.
She even told some of them that she was expecting a stillborn baby. The doulas supported her without pay. However, as she continued to approach more doulas, the women began to notice a pattern, and this led them to find out the truth. Braun was not pregnant.

The women also started a TikTok campaign that went viral and informed the authorities. As for a doula, this is someone who provides physical, emotional, and informational support to a person before, during, and after childbirth, as well as support following pregnancy loss. However, since doulas are not medical professionals, they do not have access to medical records. The entire incident is chronicled across the docuseries' three episodes. Releasing this year, the documentary features interviews, including one with Braun.
Apart from Doula: A True Crime, another true-crime docuseries was released in July this year. But this docuseries has a different approach.
What is Murder 101?
Murder 101 is a three-part documentary based on a podcast of the same name. The docuseries follows Alex Campbell, a high school sociology teacher in Elizabethton, Tennessee, and his students who begin to explore the Redhead Murders. Campbell asks his students to investigate the case in 2018 as part of a project-based approach to teaching sociology.

As part of the assignment, the students begin researching the case, focusing on overlooked information and pursuing new leads. The case involves women whose bodies were found in the same area of Tennessee over a six-month period between 1984 and 1985. The investigation led by the students becomes the focus of the documentary. It premiered on July 13, 2026, and is now available to watch on Prime Video.
