As Supergirl flies into theaters as the latest chapter in DC Studios' rebooted cinematic universe, fans are eager to see what surprises the film might have in store beyond its main story. Post-credit scenes have been a staple of superhero movies, teasing future characters, sequels, and major franchise developments. Naturally, a lot of moviegoers are wondering if Supergirl follows that tradition, and if it is worth hanging around through the credits before leaving the theater.
The answer is simpler than many fans expected, but it comes with an unexpected twist.

Now that Supergirl is all set for the theaters, fans are wondering if the movie has any post-credit scenes. This has been a burning question ever since Superman had two different stings at the end of its run last year. However, unfortunately, there is no Supergirl post-credits scene. The Milly Alcock-led film does not have a mid-credits or post-credits sting like Superman and ends when the credits roll.
It is not totally clear why Supergirl lacks a post-credits scene, as it was teased ahead of its release that it would have one. Only a month ago, director Craig Gillespie confirmed that Supergirl would have a post-credits scene. He also told Collider, as reported by Comics Basics, the movie will have one post-credit scene, but said he could not tease what will be in it.
Additionally, it has been rumored that Supergirl, that has been marked as PG-13, had a post-credit scene during early test screenings. But apparently the sequence was cut prior to the final theatrical version of the movie. Although those claims have yet to be confirmed by DC Studios or the filmmakers.
The movie ends with Kara Zor-El celebrating her birthday with Ruthye before heading home to Metropolis, where she meets up with her cousin, Kal-El (Clark Kent). She takes Krypto with her, and decides to stay on Earth for a while. The finale may not directly hint into Superman: Man of Tomorrow, but it does bring Supergirl together with Superman, setting the stage for their expected team-up in the upcoming sequel.
Even without a post-credit tease, Kara's journey leaves plenty for DC fans to look forward to.
What is Supergirl about? Inside Kara Zor-El's journey through the worlds
Supergirl is a story about Kara Zor-El, who travels through the galaxies in search of adventure far away from planet Earth. In her adventures, she meets Ruthye, a young girl out for revenge against the killers of her father. Together, they travel across the galaxies in the search of the heartless Krem of the Yellow Hills.

Together they uncover the true cost of revenge. Along the way, they encounter dangerous planets, formidable opponents, and difficult moral choices. By the end of the journey, Kara gains a deeper understanding of what it truly means to be a hero.
Supergirl does not follow the now-familiar post-credit tradition, but the movie still delivers a complete ending that naturally sets Kara Zor-El up for her future within the DC Universe. Rather than giving us some extra tease, the film spends its time resolving her emotional arc and gently setting things up for her next adventure with Superman.
