It was in August 1997 that Princess Diana, King Charles’s first wife, and a beacon of free spirit for millions of Americans, died in a fatal car accident on the streets of Paris. And her ardent followers still cannot get over what happened on that night and in the years following her death. To put it in simpler terms; Princess Diana’s husband may have moved on from the tragic course of events, but her people have not.

Almost two decades and six years after the beloved Princess’s death, Prince Charles has now become the King of Britain and is ready to swear his allegiance to the crown. However, what is peculiar here is his wife’s designation. The palace has apparently addressed her as Queen Camilla and not Queen Consort Camilla. And this has unsurprisingly disturbed Princess Diana’s ardent followers.

The late Princess, whom people admired for her grace, charisma, and philanthropic motives, reportedly had a great impact. And because of such grave affinity towards her, they believe Camilla has taken the place of King’s ex-wife. According to Radio Times’s recent chat with an American reporter, netizens still associate King Charles with breaking the late Princess’s heart. Furthermore, they now await the ceremony with a certain skepticism.

What is truly surprising to note, though, is the fact that Robert admits her fellow natives still “hold a grudge” against the royals. They believe the palace did not treat “their” Princess properly. She further explained that when Diana held AIDS-infected babies and danced with John Travolta at the White House; She captured America’s heart for once and for all.

He wrote that he was not only proud of their work but also takes pride in himself to be able to carry forward his late mother’s legacy. Now that the coronation ceremony awaits us, it will be seen if the King and the royals reflect on her glorious past or not.
