Wrexham co-owner Rob McElhenney reveals how he admires and is "inspired" by Ryan Reynolds and how they became the best of friends.

“…didn’t even know him three years ago.”- Rob McElhenney Evokes Inspiration From Wrexham Co-owner Ryan Reynolds

Ryan Reynolds [https://netflixjunkie.com/tag/ryan-reynolds/] and Rob McElhenney,
known for their renowned Hollywood careers, took on a role as co-owners of
Wrexham AFC, a Welsh soccer club competing in the fifth tier of the English
football league system. Since then, their dedication to rejuvenating the club
has been evident both on and off the field. However, what is notable is that
despite their backgrounds and personalities, a strong bond has formed between
them, fostering a close friendship.

The world of soccer is full of unpredictability, both on and off the field. Ryan
Reynolds admitted once that he knew nothing about soccer until McElhenney came
about. The duo did not know each other personally, nor had any previous
connections. However, one thing that united them together was unwavering
business spirit and vision. In an exclusive with People
[https://people.com/rob-mcelhenney-says-ryan-reynolds-truly-inspiring-wrexham-fc-exclusive-7568862],
the 46-year-old McElhenney revealed about Reynolds “I didn’t even know him three
years ago.”

Yet slowly and gradually, with time, dedication, and their combined passion to
bring about a change, the pair became great friends. Rob McElhenney also
stressed the fact that along with the two individuals, their families have also
gotten closer. A special connection was formed by the united passion for soccer.

Moreover, this bond was not all tell but more show. Since their takeover in
2020, Wrexham AFC has reached new heights with a recent US tour. The football
club which was falling behind every other on the points table is today a
contender for a playoff seat in the National League. All of this has happened
because of an unlikely friendship that two Hollywood giants formed for one
another.

him a fan favorite everywhere. So seems to be the case with McElhenney as well.
The actor praised Reynolds for his charisma and thinking adding that he always
gets to learn both professional and personal advice from Reynolds. Now the pair
has such a great collective understanding that they are helming several big
projects at once.
