The Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 trailer is out. And from its very first scene, the Bay Harbor Butcher seems to be living up to his infamous nickname. Now 50, Dexter is beginning to feel the effects of age. His fading youth and declining physical health are already making his old life harder to maintain. But things get even more complicated when two other serial k****** become more notorious than him in New York City. Unable to accept being pushed into irrelevance, Dexter has now set out on a new hunt to take them down.

The trailer offers a look at Morgan's physical and existential midlife crisis as he finds himself trapped between an iconic veteran k***** and a flashy new apex predator.

The Dexter: Resurrection's new trailer for season 2 opens on a rather amusing reality check for Dexter. He introduces himself to a victim as the infamous Bay Harbor Butcher, only to be met with a blunt, “Who?”. Dexter grumbles that “kids today have no sense of history" and continues to butcher the man. Dexter spent his entire life making sure no one knew who he really was.

He never built a public legacy. Now, two new k****** have arrived in New York and are getting all the attention he never had. But as he says towards the end of the snippet, "I'm older, I'm wiser. Things are going to get messy."

The Bay Harbor Butcher is set to return on Paramount+ on October 30. This time, the season, arriving just in time for Halloween and the franchise's 20th anniversary, completely shakes up the show's formula. It moves away from the single-villain setup and replaces it with a chaotic, multi-layered power struggle between k******.

With rivals entering the picture and familiar characters returning, the Season 2 cast brings plenty of energy to Dexter: Resurrection.

Dexter has some serious competition in New York. Brian Cox plays Don Framt, the notorious New York Ripper, which directly ties to the season 1 finale, while Dan Stevens stars as Owen Stark, the Five Borough K*****. Unlike Dexter, both have managed to turn their m******** reputations into something of a legacy. Meanwhile, Harrison, played by Jack Alcott, is still on his own quest for justice, bringing him and Dexter into what could be their darkest chapter yet.

Kadia Saraf also joins the new season as Detective Claudette Wallace, who is investigating Framt alongside Harrison and his new partner, Fiona Mixon, played by Nona Parker Johnson. Meanwhile, Krysten Ritter is returning in a guest role, alongside Uma Thurman, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Dominic Fumusa, Desmond Harrington, and James Remar.
