The most disturbing crime stories are often the ones that seem ordinary at first. No dramatic warning signs, no clear turning point, just a slow build toward something horrific. That uneasy reality sits at the center of the Deadpool Killer case, a story that continues to draw attention years later.

An upcoming docuseries, Handsome Devil, revisits the case, digging into the crimes, the investigation, and the man at the center of it all. As anticipation builds, new updates shed light on the series’ release window and other details.

Paramount+ has greenlit a new true-crime docuseries titled Handsome Devil: Charming Killer, set to premiere in the first half of this year, per Variety. No release date, however, is available for the same as of this writing.

The three-part series will explore the case of Wade Wilson, also known as the Deadpool Killer, who was convicted in 2019 for the murders of Kristine Melton and Diane Ruiz. Currently in production, the series examines both the brutal crimes and the unsettling online fascination sparked by Wilson’s viral mugshot and televised trial.

The docuseries, as reported by Variety, uses police bodycam footage and interviews with people close to the case to unpack how Wilson became a social media fixation despite the gravity of his crimes. Written, directed, and produced by Brian Ross alongside Rhonda Schwartz for Law & Crime Productions, the project also features See It Now Studios as a key partner. Handsome Devil adds to Paramount+’s expanding slate of true-crime content.

In the latter half of 2025, the platform debuted two of those projects: One about a young TikToker’s relationship with his followers becoming toxic, and the other about deception haunting modern relationships.

Thirst Trap: The Fame. The Fantasy. The Fallout debuted on Paramount+ in September, chronicling William White’s launch to internet stardom. Reality, however, soon set in as those who once fancied him became his biggest critics.

Don’t Date Brandon, meanwhile, debuted in October and followed two women uniting after realizing they were both victims of stalking, manipulation, and domestic violence by the same person. These titles can be checked out while awaiting Handsome Devil: Charming Killer.
