Deadpool & Wolverine is exactly what all Marvel fanatics are daydreaming about at the moment. And who can blame them? The upcoming movie has been putting their patience to the test for what feels like ages. Now, as it is finally about to hit theaters, fans are beyond excited to see Deadpool back in action, alongside a comic-accurate Wolverine, and maybe even crossing paths with other MCU heroes. Just months before the film's release, an actor from the Deadpool franchise hopped onto another project with Julia Garner.

As per multiple reports, both the actors are teaming up for a horror epic that will soon be rolling its cameras.

The first trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine brought back a bunch of familiar faces, but a couple of characters were noticeably missing. While some, like Zazie Beetz, have already confirmed that they will not be back for the third round, it was a shocker not to see Cable, played by Josh Brolin, on the guest list for Wade Wilson's birthday bash. According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, Brolin has now joined forces with Julia Garner for Zach Cregger’s horror thriller, Weapons.

The filming for the upcoming movie is scheduled to kick off in May in Atlanta and run through June and July. Brolin’s role was originally earmarked for Pedro Pascal, and there were whispers that The Mandalorian star had to bow out due to his commitment to Marvel’s The Fantastic Four. However, Cregger managed to rope in someone from The Fantastic Four universe anyway- Julia Garner, who is rumored to be playing Shalla-Bal. Now the big question is- Did Josh Brolin shoot his part in Deadpool & Wolverine before joining Weapons, or is he giving the mutant reunion a hard pass?

The Marvel veteran, known for playing the huge, misunderstood bad guy in superhero movies, gave a little wink to this question earlier this year.

In a February interview with Collider, Josh Brolin was asked point-blank if he is in Deadpool & Wolverine and, if not, why not. The 56-year-old joked, "No. I don't know". Then, with a smirk, he playfully suggested that maybe Ryan Reynolds does not like him-hopefully just messing around. After some back-and-forth, he paused, looked right into the camera, and finally dropped the bombshell: "Maybe". Looking at it theoretically, Josh Brolin could make an appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine as Cable and/or Thanos.

With the merc with a mouth officially stepping into the Marvel Cinematic Universe for his third cinematic outing, it technically paves the way for either one of the veteran’s antagonistic characters to make an appearance. But hopefully, if Brolin’s Cable or Thanos does make a cameo in the third Deadpool film before Weapons starts its production, it will be a better-kept secret.
