It was practically impossible not to fall for David Harbour and Millie Bobby Brown as Stranger Things' unlikely father-daughter dream team. Jim Hopper began as a gruff police chief taking in a traumatized Eleven, but their bickering, protectiveness, and wonderfully mismatched grumpy-sunshine energy turned them into one of Hawkins' most beloved relationships.

And apparently, the heart wants what it wants, because David Harbour and Millie Bobby Brown are set to star side by side again, with Harbour excited to recreate their father-daughter dynamic.

The father-daughter dynamic between David Harbour and Millie Bobby Brown is getting a rather grown-up makeover. Speaking to Variety on the Emmys red carpet about their secret Netflix action project in development, Harbour revealed that the new story will explore him fathering a daughter in her 20s, rather than navigating the teenage years they tackled in Stranger Things. And this time, she is an FBI agent.

“We do have this father-daughter dynamic that I think we play very well,” David Harbour said, explaining that Stranger Things allowed the pair to explore the messy business of raising a teenager, from rebellious streaks to Hopper learning how to be a parent. Their new project, however, moves the relationship into decidedly more complicated territory, with both characters facing their own troubles.

Harbour’s conversation with Variety has offered a glimpse into the otherwise tightly guarded project, which follows a disgraced FBI agent turned security expert forced back into action when his estranged daughter vanishes on a mission. With Millie Bobby Brown playing the daughter and fellow FBI agent, their familiar bond is heading somewhere considerably more dangerous than Hawkins.
