Apple TV+ has confirmed that Dark Matter Season 2 will premiere on August 28, 2026. The upcoming installment will consist of 10 episodes, beginning with its premiere episode before shifting to a weekly release schedule through October 30. The announcement arrived alongside a first look at the new season and was later followed by a full trailer unveiled during San Diego Comic-Con in July 2026. 

The footage offers a glimpse into the next phase of Jason Dessen's journey after the dramatic events of Season 1. What makes the new season particularly intriguing is that it moves beyond the source material. This creates an interesting contrast with the first season, which largely adapted Blake Crouch's novel.
